Take a journey back into the old west…sit back, relax and enjoy live music and beautiful scenery as Carl Hawkins of “Hawkins Chuckwagon” rustles up a meal cooked over an open fire in Dutch ovens for your dining pleasure!

“Cabin Orchard Hayrides” will weave you through the entire Dixon's Apple Orchard on a tractor-pulled hay wagon. Enjoy the bird’s eye view of our orchard as we explain its history and operation.
You will spend time at the Old Log Cabin built at the turn of the century. At the cabin you will bask in the rustic atmosphere of "Dixon's". As you arrive Carl prepares this special dinner from his authentic chuckwagon dated back from the 1800’s!

You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location to enjoy a hearty chuckwagon meal, which includes; brisket, enchiladas, beans, vegetable, biscuits, fruit cobbler, lemonade, tea and coffee. All cooked in Dutch ovens over an outdoor fire, the way it was done in the old west!

Once you’ve enjoyed the beauty and serenity of our Old Log Cabin and gotten your fill of a hearty dinner we conclude our time aboard the hay wagon. This entire experience will last approximately 3 ½ hours from beginning to end.

We will make a stop on this journey, and spend time at the Old Log Cabin, built at the turn of the century. At the cabin you will bask in the rustic atmosphere of "Dixon's", as we serve you Hot Drinks, Popcorn and S'mores. The cabin will be lit in all of its splendor, festively decorated just for you, and this special time of year. Enjoy the fires, either outside with the picturesque views, or inside, cozying up inside the toasty log cabin.

We conclude our time aboard the hay wagon, looping back for a different view of the beautiful mountains that surround the orchard. This entire experience will last 2 hours from beginning to end.

Hay Ride times are as follows:

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays only
• 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
• 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
• 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Here's a peak into your experience:

Weave through our beautiful orchards aboard the hay wagon, taking in the intoxicating aromas and breathtaking views of our trees in full bloom.

*Bring your camera to capture all that is a part of the bloom process; the hummingbirds, the bees, etc.

*Spend time at the Old Log Cabin, nestled in a corner of the orchard, built at the turn of the century. Take in this rustic, yet quaint atmosphere as you enjoy our assortment of cookies, lemonade, hot teas, and coffee.

*Bring your picnic basket and enjoy a lunch under one of the blooming apple trees, on a blanket next to the creek, or at one of our picnic tables at the cabin.

We conclude our time aboard the hay wagon, looping back for a different view of the beautiful mountains that surround the orchard. This entire experience will last 2 hours from beginning to end.
